Browning on my centennial hops

Either they're ripe or they're under attack.
If the latter, I'd suspect aphids are all up inside those cones...

Those were my thoughts. I really hope it's not aphids

Pull off a couple of cones, split them open, and leave them to dry on a piece of white paper or paper towel.
My experience with aphids is when stuff they like dries out they bail...
