If I want to back sweeten with brown sugar should I dissolve the sugar in a boiling water bath before adding or add strait up?

I would personally boil it first in a small amount of water. I've never primed with brown sugar but I boil my corn sugar before priming. It will help sterilize it and also the syrup is easier to mix in your bottling bucket.

i think your get better results if you dissolve it in near boiling water, but you dont need a lot, you should be fine with one cup water per 2 cups brown sugar
