Gonna be making a red grape wine for the first time. I've made multiple meads but never traditional wine. Is there any benifits taste wise when it comes to brown sugar or is it pretty much all the same. Looking to make a sweet wine.

Brown sugar is white sugar with molasses added. I don't think you want molasses in your grape wine. A sweet wine is regular wine, back sweetened after fermentation by "disabling" the yeast before adding sugar, so it won't ferment out.

To me, brown sugar tastes absolutely horrible when fermented out. It's still got a molasses flavor, but without the sweetness (since it ferments completely) and leaves a terrible taste behind.

I'd definitely not use it, and find some regular white sugar if it's needed.
