Woke up on Memorial Day to 2 - 3 inches of heavy wet snow. SWMBO wanted to watch the news but the satellite dish was covered in snow. Added a ladder and a huge dose of stupidity to that and ended up with 2 compressed vertebrae a fractured tail bone and a disk bulge. I guess that after years of ladders, snow, roof work, etc... I had developed over confidence.

I am thinking that Hyrdo-codon and Valium would taste better when washed down with an 8% Belgian Dubbel. My SWMBO disagrees, in fact I cannot talk her into going down to the cellar for me.

Looks like I have a few days to get caught up on some reading, I have a couple of chapters left in Brew Like a Monk and a book about how to grow and prepare your own beer ingredients (hops, herbs, etc...)

I have to lay either on my side or on my stomach, and I can sit on a doughnut for about 5 minutes before the pain makes me go lay down.

Reading, reflecting on my stupidity, TV, and surfing get old very quickly.
Do you guys have any suggestions of how to aleviate the boredom?

Oh, I was joking about mixing drugs and alcohol.

Sorry to hear about your back.

You might try an online class?

If your not walking, i dont see the issue with the hydrocodone and beer. If you are mobile watch yourself.

Mid april, I seperated my shoulder. Went out with friends, forgot that I took my hydrocodone, blacked out, and woke up with a skull fracture, subdural hematoma, and a really bad concussion, so be careful.

She OWES you that! You went up for her, its time her to go down...errrrrrr, yeh, that too.....for you!

Personally hyro-codone doesn't do s*** for me! I have mixed it with homebrew before. But I have an extremely high tolerance for pain meds. I'm having hip surgery in a few weeks and my doctor tells me that is what he is prescribing after the surgery. You can bet after they tear the labrum away from my hip and router out some bone, then drive a pin back into my hip and re-attach the labrum, I'm mixing beer with my pain meds! But back to the point of the thread, I plan on creating some new recipes and catching up on some reading as well. But the best thing I have done is record a ton of movies on my dvr. Literally 100 hours worth or more. So while I'm laying in bed for 2 weeks I will have more to watch that crappy daytime tv! I mean, Oprah's off, so what's the point?!?!?

Sorry about your fall. Speedy recovery! :mug:
