I have an IPA recipe that is just fantastic, everyone thats tried it liked and the harshest critic (myself) I thought it was on point.

I plan to take this 7.2-7.8% abv beer (varies slightly batch to batch) and use it as a base for an Imperial of 10-10.5%abv.

My question is, by how much would increase the hop additions? I use 6oz of hops in the regular version. I was thinking to increase that by 50% or total of 9oz. Maybe even a bit more in the dry hop addition.

Would be helpful to see the current recipe to assist in scaling up the IBU's and hop flavor.

Have learned that getting it to dry out may be a trick. Watch crystal additions - keep them LOW. Corn sugar will help ABV without changing the flavor too much and will help make it dry. A full bodied DIPA can be way over the top. Dry is the way to go.

As far as hops - what Boleslaus said.
