I am surprised to find that many breweries do not have their own labeled tasting glasses. I love to drink from small glasses at home.

I currently have five tasting glasses:
New Glarus - New Glarus Brewery, New Glarus, WI
Goose Island Brewery - Chicago, IL
Huber Brewery - from Minhas Brewery in Munroe, WI
Great Taste of the Midwest - Madison, WI
Midwest Brewer's Fest - Plainfield, IL (This is a plastic - unusable)

I prefer to collect the tasting glasses, because they are smaller. How many pint glasses can I store? I know Sierra Nevada has one. Since I don't think I will be out there anytime soon, I am going to order one. Does anyone have any info o brewery labeled tasting glasses?

Does anyone else collect tasting glasses?

I have a Bell's tulip glass. The rest of my brewery glasses are pint glasses.

I'm a huge beer glass fanatic, I have at least 15-20 glasses so far and I've only been collecting for 3-4 months. (That doesn't include my 12 pack and 4 pack box sets ;) )

I just got one tasting glass and that was from a nano brewery. He said it himself, people just aren't that interesting in purchasing such a small glass. I don't know what you define tasting glass as, but to me it's either the plastic (sometimes glass) one's that you get at the beer festival/events or its a 4oz glass thats almost like a shot glass. I can't see myself actually spending money on them as I wouldn't use them for more than a sample of homebrew when testing the gravity / taste before bottling or kegging.

Yes, those little ones! I love drinking from them.

I don't collect tasting size glasses, but I do have a few: (2) Sam Adams, (1) Drewery (vintage), and (2) from an Octoberfest we attended last month at a local church.

I like browsing through Ebay sometimes, go to collectibles, breweriana, drinkware. Here's an interesting one from Sprecher in Milwaukee Sprecher Brewery Milwaukee WI Beer Tasting Glass EUC | eBay

And an interesting vintage one here VINTAGE RARE 1960S GRAND PRIZE BEER BARREL GLASS HOUSTON TEXAS GULF BREWING BAR | eBay

That's a nice glass, Thanks!

I have a two Franziskaner Weiszbier tasters from the Seattle-Portland International Beer Fest from a few years back, Michigan Brewer's Guild glasses, La Chouffe, La Fin du Monde, Alaskan Brewery "Catch of the Day" pints, two Kalik pints, Dogfish Head, and 16 Guinness Imperial Pints and more.

I don't have that many tasters, but I am a glass collector for sure.

My glasses are NEVER large enough!

I've actually got several steins and mugs and glasses and such on my holiday wish list. I do hope SWMBO focuses hard on that section!!

Whenever I visit a brewery I pick up a glass with their logo - sometimes it even comes with the tour. Fun collection of stories & trips. Though usually it's full-size pint.

Pappers - I was about to mention the Sprecher tour tasting glasses! They're small with etched glass. VERY cool and perfect for tasting hydrometer samples (cooler than sipping from plastic thing). It comes with the $7ish tour.

Dang, I want that Bell's Tulip glass! Already have a regular pint glass from them and an anniversary pint glass (looks amazing when light is shining through the text/logo.). I have a hard time finding tulip glasses in general, and end up drinking Belgian stuff out of a red wine glass usually.

I wish I had more of them. I love using those small tasters for a bit of Imperial stout or barley wine on a weeknight. Otherwise it's just too tempting to go for the whole 16ozs and that can get me into trouble.. :tank:

I have to bring a taster specifically to our monthly beer club meeting. Tasting 20+ beers of varying gravities can get dangerous without one handy!

Sprecher tasting glasses are awesome and a nice size too. I have about 5 of them. However my favorite glass is a mini snifter glass from the Vail Belgian beer festival last year

I love tasting glasses. At a brewery appreciation event over the weekend, 3 people just left them behind, so I grabbed them. Now, if someone doesn't like a beer I dont have to waste a whole one.

As for regular glasses, I just started collecting. So far, my La Trappe is my favorite. Chimay and St. Bernardus are close behind. I do enjoy the gargantuan german mugs as well.

I've got too many pints from breweries from traveling for work. I wish I'd gotten tasters instead when available. SWMBO might complain less :D I've only a couple from beer festivals and a couple Killians freebies with the stickers removed. They're all plastic though. I do have one glass one from The Ohio Beer Festival this year.

Yeah, I wish they didn't make the plastic ones. My favorite is the Huber taster. It is glass, and it has no-frills printing and looks kinda retro.

The wife just broke my favorite taster...It was a Smithwicks/Harp/Guiness taster...I do still have a small Old Style one with hops under the logo.

I do agree that some small "taster" size glasses would be welcomed at homebrew club meetings...

I love the small glasses...having 5 beers on tap I like to have a small glass of each one. Maybe I'll remember and post some pics when I get home.

No taster glasses but at least once a month me and my wife try to hit up the local Gingerman for pint nite and come home with 2-4 glasses so we have a quickly growing collection of glasses. We have some awesome stuff. Chimmay Belgian anniversary chalices, Delerium Tremens tulips, duvel single tulips, hacker oktoberfest mugs, etc. along with a ton of pint glasses.

At the last beer tasting festival (Seven Springs Resort - Brewski Fest) we found about 30-40 glasses sitting around the downstairs bar after the festival was over. My wife and I, along with a few other couples, went around and gathered them all up and split them between all of us. I ended up with about 10-12

I use them when friends come over to let them taste different beers (I hate when you pour someone a full pint and they end up not liking it) and also when I want a small pull off my tap or if I need to take a gravity sample.

Edit: I have also been known to 'go out to the car to grab a smoke' with a pint glass in pocket from time to time while being a little too intoxicated at restaurants/bars that carry different glassware.

I just started collecting the smaller tasting glasses, especially those from events. If I don't move soon, I might actually have to start trimming my collection which is well over 100 glasses now, not to mention my wife who has sets of all the proper serving glasses for different mixed drinks. All together, I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said we have close to 300 glasses in my house!

I know the feeling, I have way too many myself, but it's hard to part with them. The tasting glasses are cool, but they're hard to stack:mug:
