EDIT: Posts #6 and #7 show the resolution. Must have been because I had an inventory of the grains that had corrupted mash values.
I have been using Brewer's Friend for awhile. Just started brewing the same beers with a friend who uses BrewFather.
I hand calculated my OG and it should be how BrewFather is calculating it, but Brewer's Friend is showing a major difference. Trying to figure out if it is a setting issue or a software issue on Brewer's Friend. Both are set to 75% Brewhouse efficiency (mash efficiency is a driven calculation, supposidly). Preboil volumes are slightly different but not the significance of 1.049 vs 1.042 (5.5 vs 4.5% abv).
^^ Brewer's Friend
^^ Brew Father
Hand Calculating
(4*36.8)+(3*40)+(1.75*34)+(1*36) = 362.7 gravity points per gallon
362.7 ppg/6.5g = 55.8 points or 1.0558 OG at 100% BH efficiency
At 75% efficiency that is 1.04185 or 1.042 OG which is what BrewFather is calculating.
What am I missing? I am paying for Brewer's Friend.
