I am a true fan of the "Show us your SWMBOs" thread. And I love my fellow HBT'ers, so I intend no offense :)

But in reviewing this thread, it becomes painfully obvious that brewers attract SWMBOs significantly more attractive than they are :tank:

I include myself in this category, so no worries, only love is intended here ;)

But I must wonder, why :drunk: Is it that brewers are detail oriented, and their partners appreciate this?

Do they date hot drunks (I don't think this is it, many brewer's partners don't drink much from reading lots of threads).

Are brewers somehow more desirable because they are handy, talented, and creative (I can barely describe myself as these).

Or do hot chicks dig geeks / nerds? I hope so, but doubt this.

I am soliciting your opinions, I am rather baffled, but this trend cannot be ignored. There is something incredibly appealing but covert that makes brewers desireable.

Its because I have a big... Brew pot. What did you think I was gonna say ya bunch of pervs.

I have to state the obvious......

It's because we make BEER! How can they resist us? :D

Cheers
Jay

I think there are several reasons. Brewers are the bad boys of geeks, and since geeky is in style now (think of how doofy hipsters can be and how much love they get). Not to mention the awesomeness, and realize that we show good fathering skills as we nurture billions of yeasties, and not to mention how well we take care of our beers.

I dont know, but I like the trend.

I have no idea how my wife was attracted to me. I was a crude, mean, vile person with a jaded outlook on everything. the beard theory goes out the window since I've got too much Joe Dirt DNA to grow any decent kind of facial hair. the beer idea is gone too since she doesn't like most beer. I'm short, scrawny, balding, toothless, big nosed, tattooed, with a horrible past. somehow, she brings out all the best out in me. I've wondered for the last 7 years how such a smart, wonderful, and beautiful woman could love and marry me. but she does and she did.

Made me think of this (couldn't find a better video):

We are do it alls typically. Seem to be fairly decisive, and are confident? And it doesn't hurt that at least I'm ruggedly handsome...and I do mean ruggedly.

Who's skull is that on the table?

It's because we can do a 60 minuet mash before we sparge....

I'm not sure if my the flavors in my beer are off or complex 😳

I don't quite know the answer to the question, but, to throw a monkey wrench into the equation, I (we) didn't start brewing until two years into our marriage, and after our daughter was born. So maybe us brewers have something besides brewing going for us?

I think it's because brewers have to have patience and finesse, we have to nurture our creations, we see things through, we're handy and into diy, we're technical, somewhat organized, and creative. We strive to be better than the last batch and to grow and learn, and we are more than willing to share. Brewers pretty much have to have all these traits to be successful at brewing. All these attributes also are characteristics of a good person so I think it gives us a wider selection of women to choose from so there's naturally better looking chicks to choose from out of our wider scope. I know I got a good one!
