Was gifted a 20 quart aluminum stock pot. Is it recommended to brew in an aluminum pot? It is listed as heavy gauge. I am a bit leery. Thanks.
 
I believe you have to first get an oxydization layer on the aluminum. I would read about it more before you do your first batch. i think it is just boiling water till it daekens

I could be wrong though.

You are correct. But i use aluminum and its great.
 
Yup,

Just boil a 1/2 pot of water in it first, before you ever brew in it. Then let it set to cool down....................... then pour it all out. Tell us what happens!? :D How it smells? :p
