I'm putting together a Kal clone and I've ready to start doing some wiring to put a new outlet at my brewery location in the house. I went and bought a 40amp GFCI breaker for my panel before realizing that this was going to be a giant pain in the arse. My question is if I could find a 40 AMP dryer outlet, would there be any danger in running my Control panel, which should never draw more then 25ish amps, on the 40amp circuit? If I run 8 gauge wire to the outlet, and the outlet itself is rated for 40amps, then there should be no risk of fire in an over current situation correct?
Now the question is, does a 40-amp dryer outlet exist? I've seen 30amp dryer outlets, and 50-amp Stove outlets, it seems strange that there don't appear to be any 40 amp outlets anywhere.
