4:36am CDT, earthquake in central Illinois. I couldn't figure out what the **** was happening for a second until the whole building was shaking. Cool stuff.
Waiting for the usgs to update this so I can see the magnitude. Probably real small.

edit: wow! it was a 5.4! located at 38.481°N, 87.826°W with a depth of 5km. which is [ame="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=38.481%C2%B0N,+87.826%C2%B0W&jsv=107&ie=UTF8&ll=38.471063,-87.83123&spn=0.184931,0.32135&z=12&iwloc=addr"]here[/ame].

It woke me up in NE Indiana! That was crazy, I wasn't quite sure what the heck was going on.

I'm wondering if there was any damage. "The largest historical earthquake in the region (magnitude 5.4) damaged southern Illinois in 1968."

This was a 5.4 as well.

I woke up and heard something rattling, at first I thought it was the fax machine going nuts so I walked over to it I realized it was the picture on the wall. I grabbed it to make it stop then i could feel the wall shaking then it really ramped up and the whole house was swaying. By that time I was like wtf.. earthquake so I immediately thought of my family in New Madrid Missouri and hoped they didn't just get wiped off the map. So much for getting any sleep after that.

This marks the beginning of the end. What you experienced are the grumblings from the Illinois-Iowa-Wisconsin supervolcano. I wouldn't want to be living on this continent when it finally does its thing...

Dog woke us up at 4:30 barking like hell. Windows shaking and what not.

Looked out the window and you just saw lights popping on all the way down the street. Pretty interesting experience.

Sorry guys, I was just testing my Super Conductor Yeast Rousing Machine and things got a little out of hand.

On a good note, your fermenting beers will attenuate better and the batches that are bottle carbing, will be better carbed now. Ya'll can thank me later.

I was enjoying my 4:30AM daily constitution and just chalked it up to too much fiber...

Then when the kids came running out of their bedrooms and I heard my glass on the bathroom counter rattling...I realized it wasn't (just) the broccoli.

It woke me up this moring the whole house was shaking! I have lived here all my life and have never felt one before. southern Mi. (coldwater)

The morning radio shows had lots of Chicagoland callers who felt it. I didn't.

Been through a few in the past, anywhere from a 3.0 in PA (which you wouldn;t really feel, except we were right at the epicenter) to a few 5.0-5.5ers in the Bay Area. I was (fortunately) out of town for the '89 Loma Prieta quake, which was ~10 miles from where I lived. Came home to find my apartment trashed (though building still standing), and neighbors said the quake had actually caused mini-tsunamis of water to come flying out of the swimming pool and into some of the garden level apartments.

Very unnerving. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

Please! Tell us the basement brewery is OK as well as your precious inventory!

No damage done the the epicenter of my house.

Though I did go down to check and some krausen seemed to have dropped in my Willamette Blonde carboys.

Maybe I'll brew up a 5.4% Pale Ale tonight in honor of the event. I was going to do a cream ale anyway tonight.

Aftershock was felt in NE, IN. My co-workers SWMBO said that computer monitors were shaking on the second floor of their office here in FT. Wayne, IN.
