Bottling query

Can I use standard screw top throw away glass bottles for carbonation and bottling. Have been using plastic ones for awhile now and want to step up after some satisfactory beginner brews.

I've had a couple 'twist-off' bottles make it all the way through washing, sanitizing and filling. They conditioned and drank well without any ill effects.

However, it is NOT recommended.

Yeah. Twist offs generally have thinner glass as well. Pop tops are the preferred media for bottling.
