On my last trip to Seattle I enjoyed the Alaskan Amber that was served everywhere, so I bought some bottles when I got home. It doesn't seem to taste the same as I remember. Is it just me or is there something different about the bottled batches?

not just you... who knows how old the bottles were or how they were stored... i suppose the keg was refrigerated and under co2 pressure, so it has potential to taste fresher longer.

however...I was at GABF and the beer that was being served by Cigar City Brewing - their jai alai IPA (kegged) was awful. But I had some recently in a bottle at a restaurant and it was wonderful! (considering the atmosphere, you'd have thought the GABF experience would have been better..)

Sometimes when i go to a brewpub or brewery, its either better in the bottle or better on tap. It been about 50/50. If any body near the Potosi WI area, that has been there, i thought they wernt so good on tap and their 10%-12%? scotch ale was terrible.I thought they were way better in the bottle.Great place though reminded me a little of a mini-MillerValley.Great place to visit and you can pick up some New Glarus on your way.
Ive gotten the chance to try Arrogant Bastard on tap,and i thought it didnt even taste like it, i asked them if they gave me the right one.

Has anyone tried their own brew bottled vs keg on the same batch and was there a difference in taste?

There is very little difference for most beers. Some beers are better out of a bottle, some are better kegged. Weiss beirs are best bottled, lagers are best kegged. Pale ales don't really matter, stout I like off the tap.
