Bottle from carbonated keg

I normally keg half of a finished beer (approx 20 uk pints) and bottle the rest but with the last batch I ran out of time and did not bottle any. Has anyone tried to bottle finished beer (ie after it has carbonated and ready to drink) directly from the keg? Would be keen to try it but I'd welcome any views on whether this is a sensible approach or recipe for disaster!

Yes, this is actually very common.

There are tools for sale just for this purpose, like a counterpressure bottle filler or a Blichmann beer gun.

I like many do this routinely. I bottle beers to give away or to finish off a near empty keg if space is needed or if I am entering a comp (Soon to do so)

i often bottle from the keg. I cut the pressure down to about 4 psi, stick a piece of hose in the tap (long enough to get to bottom of bottle), bleed the keg, and fill bottle up. I wouldn't recommend this for long term storage but if you will be drinking them in a couple or few weeks. Super easy and you probably already have the hose.
