Tried a mocha stout and not sure if bottle..
3 gallon batch

6 oz. chocholate malt
2 oz black patent
2 oz. roasted barley
8 oz crystal (60l)
3.3 lbs DME

6 oz unsweetened chocholate
8 oz lactose

est. og 1.6
act. og 1.45
FG 1.25

One month primary average 68-70 degrees..sat right next to pale ale that went from 1.65 to 1.1

I cut a 5 gal recipie in half and then took up to 3 gallons(mistake on my part)

Could the chocholate and lactose cause the high gravity? I want to add 2 cups of coffee and bottle, but dont want bombs...pitch it try again or take the chance?

i would think you are ok. that is a lot of lactose for a 3 gallon batch. i used a pound in a 5.5 gallon batch and it really came through.

Yes, the chocolate in suspension and the unfermentable lactose will keep your FG high. It is probably done. I would say it is safe to bottle.
