Oh well. Just made my first attempt at home brew. Guess I hosed it up somehow. Thought I followed the instructions pretty religiously. Without going through each step, any suggestions as to why the yeast is not activating in the glass carboy?
The yeast went in about 17 hours ago. The attempted brew is an amber. The ingredients are: Alexander's Pale Malt Extract; specialty malts are Crystal 40 L, Carastan 35 L, with light roasted barley; and the hops used are Chinook and Saaz; and the yeast is White Labs British Ale liquid yeast.
Yeast was stored in the refrigerator and brought out about 6 hours before I pitched the yeast.
Any ideas?
