Ha Auror I was the short portly guy with the bright yellow shoes and blue jacket just a couple people behind you.

I took a screenshot of the fb post from the other day just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, it says everyone who orders KBS will get a pour of Kate, not the first 22 people in line, I was just hanging out at my house if I had known there was only 1 bottle of each I would've gotten there earlier. Can't get too upset because I think it's cool they did that but it was a gut punch being that close.

A fresh Alpha King and Furious softened the blow though...barely.

Hobo still has Furious? I need to get over there. Traded for that beer multiple times now and every time its been old as ****. Or at least tastes like it.

That post indeed says everyone, without qualification. I'm sure they weren't trying to fool people, but pretty sloppy on their part nonetheless. I feel like I did see a post (maybe on another site) from the owner saying it would be 20 people, but unless you saw that in addition to the FB post, you'd likely be out of luck. I guess it doesn't take a genius to guess that they probably didn't have a ton of KtG, but still.

Yeah I wasn't expecting a ton, just assumed 2-3 bottles of each from that crazy secret stash down the cellar. It was alright, now I know for future specials to get there earlier

Question for you guys:

I am driving down on Saturday for the 1:35pm Sox game and was planning to fit in some quick stops for growlers/bottles at Night Shift and Trillium (one before, one after, not sure which yet).

What is the parking situation like at these two breweries, is it just an on-street find what you can type deal? Garages nearby? Is the parking/tasting room at Night Shift being affected by the move and expansion project? Any suggestions on how to approach driving to these breweries is appreciated, thanks!

Night Shift is in an alley that looks a bit shady, like the beginning of a horror movie and the parking isn't the easiest but you can park along the fences for the most part and nobody will say anything. Trillium should have plenty of meter spots open on a Saturday. Hopefully it won't be a 4 hour game or you'll have to book it out of there after the game since they both close at 6. Night Shift hasn't moved yet but they have less available than usual preparing for the move in the next couple weeks. Both are great though, hope that helps a little

I thought my phone's GPS was leading me to a grisly death or mugging first time I went to Night Shift. The area is perfectly fine and safe from all my experiences there, it's just in the back of an alley behind an moderately industrial construction site. I've always taken the T there so I can't personally attest to the parking situation but I could see it getting tight, especially if they're busy which is often the case on Saturday afternoons. I bet if you hit them up right around the 12:00 opening you could get in for some samples/fills and out in time to get downtown in time for the game.

Parking sucks at our current brewery location but people always make it work. We have yet to have a customer towed. But please park smartly as there are lots of other business trying to operate in the complex. If you have a question about a parking spot give us a call at the brewery (617-901-5707) and we can direct you.

It is easiest to get a parking spot the closer you arrive at noon. There is also a smaller crowd at that time and we can serve you fast. If you come between 4-6pm we are significantly more packed but we have 6+ staff members working so the wait won't ever be longer than a few minutes. See you Saturday. Cheers!

Thanks so much! Looking forward to it.

Anybody getting wild and heading out to Tree House tomorrow morning for that TG Collab, David? Debating what time to get there. They don't like people lining up super early, right? Is 2 hours 'super early'?

2 hours early for growler fills is super early regardless of whether the brewery dislikes early arrivals or not. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if others see your post, freak out accordingly, and then show up with you. So you at least might have some cover when TH employees look on with disdain.

Lush Life at CBC is excellent. 8% BSDA with raspberry and cherry puree aged in red wine barrels. Definitely worth popping in for if you're in the area.
I was surprised by it as I was afraid it was going to be too sweet. That little tartness saved it, I would love to try it dried out by some of those CBC bugs.

I wasn't a huge fan, but i had it a few weeks ago as a nightcap. Way too sweet for me

Pretty good Funky Buddha list, I'm hoping to make it over before Veruca kicks

Was waiting for the list. Thank you Hobo for always stepping your game up. Seriously, other Boston craft bars, take some notes. I'm not sure if Hobo has connections to get kegs like this or just knows whats up. Either way, I think I'll skip on the HF trip I was pondering.

Hit up Tree House this weekend and talked to Dean for a bit. He mentioned that after the closed for the day, they were making the long drive to Toppling Goliath for another collaboration. He said it might be a re-brew of David, or a new beer. He wasn't sure - I think they'd decide when they got there.

Going to see Afghan Whigs at the Paradise tonight. Waiting for friends to get down here so I popped into Sunset Cantina. Didn't consider BU graduation. Drunk ****** asks bartender for the strongest beer he has in the biggest glass. Bartender serves him a 23 oz Parabola. I **** you not.

Also I'm sitting next to a homeless guy.

I needed to tell someone before my friends get here. Thanks, guys.

What's the going rate on 23oz of Parabola?

Anyone seen any Scharbeekse Kriek on the shelves anywhere recently, price be dammed? There were some at Redstone a few months ago but not sure if they're gone now...

I could be mistaken, but I feel like I've seen this every time I've been at Berman's. Give them a call.
