So... Just me and FalconA for the past half hour.

Apparently dicers was here earlier but left quickly but still

CBC was packed to the walls last night.

Went to State Park for the first time too and that place was really good. Great food and drink list. All the old timey ****** beer is like $4.

Do they really have 'loons on the menu?

What weird prices. $17 for Dupont and $16 for Cantillon. Breakfast stout for $11 but Stillwater Classique for $7.50?

How big are the Mini-Pitchers? I like the idea of pitchers of Hoponius and Old Brown Dog.

It seems like every place that opens these days has Classic bottles (what I am assuming "Cantillon" with no more info means) for a little while right when they open. I am less than impressed by a place pulling out 375 mL bottles of Classic for $16 as their big gun to try to draw people. Last time I bought a bottle of classic in a bar, like 2 years ago, it was for like twelve bucks at Hobo, which is not exactly normally the cheapest place in the world to buy bottles. I'd rather drink Tilquin anyway.

I assume the mini-pitchers are about 32 oz, which would correspond with the pricing.

I would really only be impressed if they had enough of a cache of it so that it lasts. I agree on bottles of Classic being the initial draw for new places.

I'm still a little perplexed by the selection. They a bunch of cheap, macro crap, 4(?) drafts of meh-to-great beer, but not anything too interesting, and then some over-priced Belgians, including Classic. Why not a few better hoppy offerings on draft? Or a saison or two.

What's with the macro, too? The mini Bud cans and shot-and-beer combos seem to indicate that this is an irony thing, but I'm just a little confused. Maybe they'll settle into it.

Also asked about the mini-pitcher because they sell pints. If the mini-pitcher is 32oz, as I figured, too, then there is no advantage to ordering the mini-pitcher over two pints except that you get to pour it yourself (or three people can have less than a pint, I guess). Good for them for having Old Brown Dog, though. I love that beer.

Didn't see loons but they have tilquin. Even a Bon chien magnum. Supposedly some sort of wine program featuring reasonably price magnums but I didn't see a list for that.

On tap was gansett, jabby brau, harpoon stout, and something by pretty things. The prices are strange for bottles like $50 Bo & Luke and $40 Biscotti Break Natale. There is a bit of irony with the whole place but if they were keeping with the theme of inexpensive drinks I don't know why those prices were so high. Especially when I just had a bottle of Bo & Luke at Row 34 for $30 last week.

I got more feels for the food their though. I was pretty happy with some gansett and that ghost chile fried chicken. I'm paying for it today tho lol

Also Dupont is stupid expensive everywhere. I don't know why anyone buys that beer.

Anyone know what's good with the new Trillium IPA, Sleeper Street? They didn't seem to announce it or make any sort of mention, but I saw it on their site today.

I'm going to tomorrow, so I'll grab a growler unless anyone can definitively tell me that it's not worth it in light of the brilliance of Congress Street.

EDIT: I think GF is going this afternoon. If she grabs it, I'll report back.

Congress St. IPA recipe with El Dorado instead of Galaxy. Galaxy in short supply until new harvest, apparently.

The Sleeper Street is with El Dorado? She'll pick up something as long as the weather is ok. We're going tomorrow anyways.

When the hell is more Lineage Rye coming out?

Yes, that description is what Sleeper St. is. Sorry that wasn't clear. Website has Lineage Rye in the on deck list.

KBS is on at Sunset, 1 quarter keg. If you feel like just overpaying and saving the pain in the ass of chasing it around in the next couple weeks.

Hey Boston TBers, tonight at Lord Hobo if you order a KBS you get 2 sample pours of Kate the Great (10 and 12 I think). In case you want that tick.

Cantillon Classic, Vigneronne, 3F Hommage, and Golden Doesjel just landed at Julios. Cantillon is probably gone to hold cards but the 3F stuff is still there in limited amounts.

Assume that means other Shelton accounts may have received similar bottles today

I'm so disappoint, it was only the first 22 people and I was 25th. I want to hulk smash a table I'm so bummed I stayed up. Tonight is gonna blowww at work

I managed to make it in for the Kate pours with my Dad (#20 and #21 in line I think, got there at 4:10ish). They poured '10 and '11 Double Oaked KtG (oak^2 on the labels). If that wasn't awesome enough, I believe they only charged $1 per pour. Sure 1oz each, but considering the resale market/rarity of the beers, it's a pretty insane deal.

All I had to do was wait in line for 20 minutes and then order a KBS. How cruel Lord Hobo.

(ps sorry you missed out Beers Morgan, the Kates were really only good if you love port. I mean really love port.)

Ha Auror I was the short portly guy with the bright yellow shoes and blue jacket just a couple people behind you.

I took a screenshot of the fb post from the other day just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, it says everyone who orders KBS will get a pour of Kate, not the first 22 people in line, I was just hanging out at my house if I had known there was only 1 bottle of each I would've gotten there earlier. Can't get too upset because I think it's cool they did that but it was a gut punch being that close.

A fresh Alpha King and Furious softened the blow though...barely.
