Any ideas about coffee/barleywine? I kinda assumed there'd be a lot of those, but perhaps I am being overly optimistic.

Impressions I got (no hard numbers): BCBS will be plentiful, then a case or two of BW and coffee to the big stores.

Also Gillian, Halia, and Lolita hitting some Boston stores this week, too. Which is weird, because I think they came to some MA stores weeks ago. Maybe just Western MA got it before.

It's out at Kappy's in Medford (no variants). It'll be out at Julio's later today (along with variants apparently).

Regular at Supreme in Cambridge ($24) and Blanchard's in Allston ($27). Not on the shelf, have to ask.Walsh Liquors in Brighton was my favorite of the day.

"No, it's a beer not an actual bourbon."
"Yes that's the only Goose Island we have." Shows me Captain Morgan.

Rumor I've heard on variants is that they are in the distributor warehouse. So... I don't know. Total guess: Maybe they got it late and didn't know how much they were getting and the person who handles store allocations was off today?

Redstone got (and sold out of) coffee, barleywine, and backyard, so it's not all in the warehouse. Their case of loons also came and went in about 45 seconds. The butthurt Facebook comments are awesome.

Did they only get a case each of the variants? From what I've been hearing at several stores, they will be in very short supply at the most, in MA.

Yeah, as far as I'm aware, they got a case of coffee, barley wine, and backyard, and at least 4 or more cases of BCBS. Also selling it for $17.99 which is at least 5 dollars less than anywhere else I've seen in Boston, although I imagine with the massive volume this year places like Atlas, Martignetti's, etc. will be getting plenty eventually and selling similarly cheap.

A-B has a separate distributor in Boston vs. the rest of the state. I'm not sure which distro Redstone gets from. Since they got variants, I'm guessing not Boston, but maybe they are and A-B did something wacky.

I don't go to high end bars much, I prefer dives BUT if I'm wearing nice clothes I pop in once in a while to scope it out. The last 2 times I've been sitting next to straight up escorts at the bar. No hiding it.
