When you guys boil, is it at full blast the entire time or do you turn it down after a bit. I'm wondering what's advised. I'm using an electric stovetop.

I turn mine down to just below the point it starts to foam up and boilover. Im dealing with 6.5g of wort in a 6.74g pot, so I need to be REALLY careful of that.

I need a bigger pot...and a bigger burner to support it...and a new fermentation fridge. Well, at least it's still cheaper than golf and (barely) shooting.

Boiling temperature does not change with the strength of the boil. Adjust to keep movement of the liquid in the pot but certainly dial it down a bit to prevent boilovers.

When mine starts to boil over I turn it down, clear it up, and then bring it back up. Works everytime...so far.. :)

I like a good rolling boil, but a lot of that depends on how the weather effects the boil off rates. I kind of adjust it by volume and SG on the fly. Since I use a turkey fryer pot, it doesn't have a big surface area, so I normally have to kick the boil up a bit to get the rate I need.

Simply put, get the most vigorous boil without a boil over. It's not anymore complicated than that. Since you have an electric stove top, that may require you slide the pot off to the side to prevent a boil over from time to time.
