Birthday ipa

My stepdads birthday is coming up in a couple months and he's a big fan of IPAs so I figured what better gift than homebrew. Only problem, I'm not the biggest IPA fan and gave thus never looked into making one. Was wondering if anybody had any recipes they'd be willing to share. He like double IPAs and the hop stoopid.
