I see a lot of variation of yeasts used for porters. I am looking to do my first vanilla porter this weekend. Does the yeast matter that much in this style? I see a lot of California Ale yeast, English Ale yeast, and a few others. What have you guys had success with. Is there a popular recipe on HBT for a vanilla porter?

I have used a few different yeast and honestly liked them all,
Denny's Favorite 50
Scottish Ale Wyeast 1728
London Ale Wyeast 1028

For drier stouts I have used Imperial Yeast Darkness (Dry Irish ale yeast)
