Y'all got most of my favorites, except:

Scavenger Hunt
Stripes

and about 1,000 others that I would have to look back through my ol' VHS collection to remember. :)

Oh, I love the first Addams Family movie! Raul Julia was great as Gomez.

Have to second the motion on Christmas Vacation and There's Something About Mary.

How 'bout Blazing Saddles?

Monty Python - The Meaning of Life

'I'm not putting that on my John Thompson!'

Just DVR'ed it last week.

Spaceballs
Blazing Saddles
Top Secret
Airplane!
Airplane II
Hot Shots
Hot Shots, Part Deux
Young Frankenstein (That's Frahnkenshteen!)
History of the World Part 1
Naked Gun Movies
Vacation Movies (ok, just the first two...)
Strange Brew
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Monty Python
and Spaceballs

I'll throw in a few too.

Bachelor Party
Midnight Madness (obscure, but dumb and funny)
The Life of Bryan
Just One of the Guys
Can't Buy Me Love

We now return you to the arts...

Oh, that's right! I forgot Happy Gilmore- the funniest dumbest movie of them all. I love when Adam Sandler and Bob Barker duke it out.

Richard Pryor got me thinking:

The Toy

Then I was thinking about 80's movies and remembered:

Back to School(The Rodney Dangerfield classic)

The Triple Lindy!

Can't believe it took us 31 posts to get to Animal House...the grandaddy of them all.

And we have Stripes...Caddyshack...but no Ghostbusters?

Riots in the streets, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

"Plan 9 From Outer Space"
"Santa Claus Conquers The Martians"
Okay, they weren't meant to be funny, but they are!

I have to add "The Blues Brothers" and two old-school films - "Pillow Talk" and "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?". If they are on, I have to stop and watch.

There's definately a difference between "comedies" and "stupid comedies." Stupid comedies, I would never dare rent; the shame would be too painful. Stupid comedies, I don't like to admit how much I enjoy.

Some Kevin Smith movies, I would consider to be stupid comedies (Mallrats, Jay + Bob Strike Back). Some, like Chasing Amy, just a comedy. The first Clerks? Non-stupid comedy. I never saw Clerks II, but that looked like stupid comedy. Jersey Girl? Just stupid.

So, there's some movies on this list that, I think, do not belong.

THE BURBS'
Superbad
Waiting
Happy Gilmour
Billy Madison
The Waterboy
Dumb and Dumber
Nat Lampoon's Senior Trip,European Vacation,Christmas Vacation,Summer Vacation, Vegas Vacation, Van Wilder, Animal House

Along the Trey Parker/Matt Stone line, how about Orgazmo? Ron Jeremy's non-porn theatrical debut.

And then there's Lake Placid. A "horror" movie that makes me laugh more than many comedies. My favorite line in that movie is from Betty White when she says, "If I had a d!ck, this is where I'd tell you to suck it!"

All time favorite... The Jerk

Huh? I am not a bum. I'm a jerk. I once had wealth, power, and the love of a beautiful woman. Now I only have two things: my friends and... uh... my thermos. Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi.

Now that is a funny movie...

Airplane!
Slapshot
Strange Brew
A Christmas Story
The Big Lebowski
Grandma's Boy
That right there is a pretty great list.
I'd add:
1941
Stripes
Caddyshack
Happy Gilmore

And for Broadcast silliness I'd also have to give a big plug to a BBC show that's supposed to be seeing a US version soon, The IT Crowd. If you're a techie/geek you'll get a kick out of it.

The first season was funny, but season 2 sucked.

Have you tried turning it off and on again

Let us not forget Dr. Strangelove or "how i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb"

Survival kit contents check. In them you'll find: one forty-five caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days' concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible; one hundred dollars in rubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings. Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.

Top Secret

Glad someone else is a fan. Probably the most under-appreciated stupid comedy of all time - and arguably Val Kilmer's finest role :p

Did anyone mention:
Dodgeball
PCU
Talladega Nights

Due to my strange sense of humor, here's mine. Willam DeFoe plays an even stranger role in this than his normal; which is weird enough anyways.

Boondock Saints.

"Rule of thumb, now you can't do much damage with something like that. Should have been the rule of the wrist".

"Now make like a tree.....and get the f**k out".

"Hey F**k @$$, get me a beer"

"I know what this is, this is bad television. Professionals don't do this s**t"

"We're like 7-11. We may not always be doing business, but we're always open"

"You know what we need, a rope, Charlie Branson always has a rope"

The cat scene, "Well, is it dead?"

Since all my picks have been done, I have one for the list.

Real Genius.

Kent: You, huh? Well you won't get away with this. Doctor Hathaway's gonna hear all about this. You'll rue the day!
Chris Knight: "Rue the day?" Who talks like that?

:( I talk like that.
