I think I saw a YouTube about this (or a similar lake at least) last year. The ferry never stops moving as kids jump off, deposit mail in a few boxes as they run along the dock, then jump back on just as the ferry hits the end. Damn impressive!

I knew a Norwegian guy that would sauté crickets in butter. They were quite tasty. The legs were annoying when they got stuck between your teeth, but I actually enjoyed the snack. While we were chatting, we came up with the idea of a cricket beer. I wonder if he was talking to the Mexicans and gave them the idea.

Perfectly good source of protein. POWs in the Hanoi Hilton routinely supplemented their daily rations of starchy rice with insects (some they cultivated, but you probably don’t want to know how) in order to survive their captivity.

I don't think the article said much about how they do this in the wild, or how many eggs they lay in a clutch. They might be like sea turtles and count on flooding the area with their young to satiate predators while still leaving some to make it to a safer place. Who knows. I probably won't look it up, and I doubt you will either.

The article stated the female lays one egg, up to three times per year, and the wording didn't make it sound particular to captive turtles...

Have you tried crickets sautéd in butter? They have a nutty flavor. Like I said, I enjoyed them. I don’t know what kind of flavor they’d add to beer, but I am curious.

“Dry bugging”, I hope, is not, and won’t become a thing. I think adding them to the mash would be where they’d be. At least that’s what I thought when Ivan and I came up with the idea.

To the best of my recollection the only "bugs" I've ever eaten on purpose were a few chocolate covered ants - pretty much on a dare - and that frankly was a waste of chocolate...

The noise is obtrusive, and given the exponential growth in popularity, the noise is spreading. Us poor tennis players are finding ourselves more and more SOL finding tennis courts not taken over by the TOK TOK TOK ers.

I read an article last week regarding the spike in knee surgery resulting from "folks of a certain age" getting into this pickle ball thing. Maybe the youngsters looking for tennis time just need to wait it out for a bit before all the oldster pickleball players are all relegated to using walkers. Shouldn't take too long
