I grabbed some sour plums at the farmer's market the other day and had the brainstorm that they could go well in summer fruit beer. I kept about a pound of them in the freezer with the idea of adding them towards the end of primary.

Any ideas for a good base beer?

Oud Bruin! Basically a brown base. I did a sour Oud Bruin last year with red and black plums that I really enjoyed!

So here's an idea for a 4L-batch simplified Sour Red Brett:

750 g Red X
100 g Sugar or appropriate syrup

5 g Styrian Golding @ FWH

4 g Philly Sour

0.25 pack Suburban Brett @ 36 hours

500g Sour Plums @ 36 hours
