I have a "Pump 'n Seal" vacum pump that can remove the air in a jar via a small hole in the lid which allows air out, but not in. Would this be helpful in storing washed yeast?

Also if it stirs up any residual sugar it's gonna ruin your seal anyway. I don't tighten. Had one shatter previously doing that.

Edit: Alternatively use beer bottles maybe, small head space, pressure safe, the yeasties settle out well away from the head... Besides, they'd probably just use the tiny bit of oxygen anyway if you threw in a pinch of sugar, shook, and left on the counter a day anyway.
