I know where else can you brew in the summer without heating your strike water.:) Yes I do want to get a canopy, the last rig had umbrella stands which I couldn't do without. There are several clubs that do large group brews. The last large group I went to had over 20 brewers that brewed. The is going to be another large brew May 3 that I plan on attending. for info on that I would pm wild.

Something like this HERE can be relatively inexpensive and can dissasembled to fit on the trailer, maybe you could toss a couple of these on the on the canopy and be totally self sufficient :mug:

I will look into the May 3rd event thanks for the heads up.

Today's upgrades. I finished the hop stopper designed by Bobby_M and installed it. I have high hopes that this will work with 50-70% pellet.

Next I started digging through "the garage of accumulated sh!t" thinking I needed some sort of work platform that I could set my lap top and stage my hops on. I don't remember acuiring this but it fit the bill nicely.

I had to lengthen the side rail to keep it away form the BK heat and install another upright for support.
As I was digging my way to the table I found this

Once mounted I will have 2 stage filtration for my water. I still have to find 18" cartridges.

I also measured the smoker/BBQ to determine mounting.

ARRRGH! it's too long. So in a hazed mind I decided that if the fire box is removed and propane burner installed to the BBQ it would fit perfectly and I wouldn't have to worry about spreading ash and embers as I traveled down the road. The burner I know is not in the garage. If anyone knows of a place to get really cheap BBQ burners then the BBQ might happen before the end of summer.

I've been looking at the "pop-up" canopys. I have several friends who have them and they have gotten them on sale for about $75 for a 10X10. These fold up to fit in a bag you can carry over your shoulder. But due to Obamics I will be using the umbrellas from the old rig.

Thirty, you are a slick treu pimp! That rig is amazing. I want ones for me and eeryone. This thing is a azazing. :druck:

Thanks for the compliments. As we are our own worst critics there are many things I would like to do to it to make it truly the bomb. Perhaps when money permits. Until then I will be doing what I can with the "garage of accumulated sh!t" and the help of other interested home brewers.

Great design beerthrity...let me know if you need an assistant on your N. American beer tour. {YOU SUCK!}

I have a dream to build a mini beer truck out of an enclosed trailer. Something like this:
http://www.allstatetrailers.com/photos/023/10342023_1_b.jpg

Cut out a spot for a window air conditioner, insulate the walls a little better, and drill some taps into the side and you're the new best friend to everyone you know.

Today I skipped the wet run and just made beer.:) Hit my numbers pretty spot on not bad since I just guessed at the new chiller and trub losses. It was the perfect test day for all the upgrades I have made so far. The wind was blowing hard and would, I suspect gust up to 25 MPH. Not a single burner was blown out, the shields worked perfectly. I finally had a chance to use the new birthday plate chiller I got back in February. Single pass chilling down to pitching temps. Tippy dumps are amazing, making cleanup a breeze. Electrical system only had one small hiccup, when touching the mash tun with the inside of my forearm and wet feet I noticed a slight tingle. I think i have figured out why but it still confuses me a bit. I didnot ground the trailer to the gfci because of limited room in the box and the fact that the entire elctrical system is insulated from the trailer. Plastic boxes, rubber coated ladder clips water proof box fittings, then I realized that although the pumps use grounded cords the pump frames were still bolted to the trailer frame. I tested the GFCI befor brewing began and it worked fine. so the only answer is the pump frame ground. I'll be adding a trailer ground to the GFCI before the next brew. So here are the pics.

I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the hopstopper equipped boil kettle after draining. Although it did leave a little wort behind and caused a couple cavitation issues, I was pleased with its performance. The hop bill was 2 oz of leaf and 2 oz of pellet.
There a still many small and a couple major upgrades in the works. I will post as they emerge.

Its been awhile since I posted on this project. I've been very busy getting the trailer ready for automation. I haven't brewed since the big brew due to the trailer being disassembled for refit. before the unveiling I want to thank family and friends for their contributions to my dream without which this could not have been possible. Although not quite finished, it was time to take some pictures. The wiring of the trailer and mounting of the control box needs to be completed and is not pictured yet.(pics of the components can be found in my gallery for those interested) The brew system will be automated by the Brewtroller which will be housed in a 14x16x6 SS enclosure. There are 14 switches(3 position) also mounted in the control box which will give me the choice of off/auto/on for complete control during either a manual brew or full auto brew of each solenoid, burner, pump and valve. Each kettle has temp control and volume control via pressure sensors located in the control box. The sight glasses have been removed for the install of exterior mounted pressure sensor tubing to reduce off measurements from the airbubble getting hot and expanding. When complete I will post more detailed pics of each part but untill then here is where I am at. Enjoy

Holey Moley Beerthirty! This is the first time I have seen this thread. What a great idea and wonderful impletation. Job well done! I am very green with envy right about now. I give it about a million on a scale of 1 to 100.:D
