Beer smith question

So I've been out of the game for a few years and I've decided to get back in. For the past few weeks I've started piecing together my new 3 tier system and now I'm starting to look at recipes. I've downloaded BeerSmith and I'm not sure I'm using it correctly. Does anyone know if there is some tutorial or what not for using that app? I would guess you have to input what brewing rig your using but I'm not sure. I've browsed a few recipes on there and the whole mash temp, 2 step medium thing throws me off..

there are some excellent beersmith tutorials on youtube, as well as some really great ones on Brun'water as well.
