I can drink a lot of beer, and get drunk, and be a bit hungover the next morning, but really be okay, as long as I avoid hard liquor. Any time I start getting after the shots, I'm screwed. Last night is a perfect example. SWMBO wouldn't let me drive myself home, and I realized it was a good idea as I stumbled in the front door. Luckily, I ate a bunch of food before I passed out, and never took any shots, and I feel pretty okay right now. May I never forget the lesson: shots are the enemy, beer is your friend.

Water is the key. Drink a few gallons of water before you go to sleep, and maybe eat some starchy food, and you'll be good. And a couple of B-12 pills couldn't hurt either.

A few GALLONS????!!!! With all due respect, are you a large person? I can't even comprehend drinking that much. Unless you mean over the course of a couple of hours. I go with a couple of GLASSES of water before passing out (when I remember :D ). But you're right--water is a panacea!

My wonderful SWMBO gave me a couple Ibuprofen (which I know gets mixed reviews for pre-hangover treatment) and vitamins before I passed out, and I had plenty of food and water. Everything worked out just fine.

corned beef hash, over easy eggs, homefries, white toast, coffee. The only hangover remedy you need...

I agree, Torch, if one night I have 10 beers and another night I have 10 shots or mixed drinks, I'll be in much worse shape the morning after the hard liquor

I am almost completely off hard liquor. It messes me up. Back in the winter i had a couple beers (probably IPAs, high alcohol) and then had a couple glasses of Makers Mark, sat around for an hour, I was buzzed, had some water, went to bed. I was f-ed up the next day, I don't know what happened.
