I pressurize the keg with some CO2, vent it to remove any oxygen from the head space, and then pressurize again just to ensure the lid is sealed.

Set the regulator for approx 15 psi Hook up your Co2 bottle to the gas-in port Open the up the valve and listen for the gas to stop flowing into the keg. Turn off the regulator Vent all the gas thru the pressure relief valve Repeat step 4 Unhook everything
