Modern Times is modem tones. Which was the second brewery I listed. As mentioned previously, I forgot H24, but that club sounded like such a disaster the first time around that I can't believe anyone signed up for the second version. Alesmith doesn't really count, I don't think.
So, semi definitive list of brewery memberships in CA available last year:
Those are roughly ranked for me, though at some point the list transitions to "I just don't give a ****" and they're all clumped together. Anything I missed?
- Sante Adarius
- The Bruery
- Modern Times
- Good Beer Company
- The Rare Barrel
- Sierra Nevada
- Fifty Fifty
- Libertine
- Hanger 24
- Casa Agria
- Dionysis
- California Wild Ales
- Bike Dog
- Mraz
- Mikkeller
- Chleopus Quealy
- Track 7 (ish)
- HPB (ish)
- Monkish (ish)
IDK man...There are a lot more clubs than those listed there. Plenty of crappy little breweries have clubs, even though they don't bottle. Some of them are such bad breweries I would be amazed if anyone actually joined, like this place. But maybe the beer is too complex for my non-advanced palate.
from their website said:THE BEST IPA I’VE EVER HAD! CAN’T WAIT TO GIVE YOU MY MONEY!
Haven't bought Fieldwork, but isn't Alvarado like $16? Alvarado is $2 better than henhouse IMO. Maybe I need to give henhouse another shot, but at $14, that stays on the shelf.$14 a four pack. I know Henhouse doesn't get a ton of love, but that price point is way better than Alvarado St. and Fieldwork. Definitely willing to give it a try.
I bought a single Alvarado St. can at Beer Rev for like $6. That's probably my bad, but I didn't think they were $16/4-pack in distro.Haven't bought Fieldwork, but isn't Alvarado like $16? Sorry for partying.Yeah my buddy has been paying 22-24 at places like beer rev and good hop for Alvarado. Maybe $16 is at the brewery price? Only eccentric billionaires like tosh can afford to drill $24 four packs all day long...

Pricey, and all the bottles I've opened so far are crazy foamy. Do like the direction they're headed in however. Would like to visit the tasting room. I hear Nile is super nice and accommodating.I joined Mad Fritz this year. Some hits and misses last year but figured I would give them some time.
You're saying a $30 wine barrel aged mild isn't a sound beer investment?I want to believe in MF so bad and Nile is very sweet....but yeah, pretty pricey and pretty spotty output. Not to mention i'm trying to reduce my beer spending.

http://russianriverbrewing.com/brews/scratching-post/Anyone know anything about Jake Brake or Scratching Post from RRBC? On the "Coming Soon" list, but they appear to be new beers.
I see this on untappd: https://untappd.com/b/russian-river-brewing-company-jake-brake/1920895
Yes. Yes it does.
That may just be what RR sent them - one of the Oakland bars got in a shipment of Pliny a couple weeks ago, and they were already 3 weeks old by then.Santa Clara is ok. Last time I was there they still had MoaS on the shelf. Taproom is neat too. Mountainview one is weird: last time I was there they put out "fresh" Pliney and it was a month old.
We get Hopslam around here now? Sweet, I can round out the top 15 BA beers from 2010 list that I just found under a seat in my car. That being said, any Hopslam sightings?
Never gonna tick Stone IRS, though. We get Hopslam around here now? Sweet, I can round out the top 15 BA beers from 2010 list that I just found under a seat in my car.
