RIP Apricot du Bois

We always had that summer love.

Heard this should be hitting Bay Area distro pretty soon.
It was limit 2 in Truckee ($13 for 500 ml) a couple weeks ago.

But is it any good this year? Is it last year good, or kind of Meh like ALL the recent stuff?

I stopped by the Drake's Dealership last night. Great spot, but man that was some of the worst service I've ever had in a bar/restaurant. The bar line wasn't very long, but it was very slow. They clearly didn't have enough bartenders and/or registers at the time. The food my friends order took a very long time to come out. My friend's dad asked for water and eventually coffee multiple times and never got it (we noticed the water jug at the edge of the property and eventually he got it there) and even the bill took multiple requests. It was at capacity, so perhaps they didn't anticipate that many people on a Tuesday night.

It's a really good spot and I'm going to go back. I just might give them a good month or so to sort things out.

This is generally good advice for new spots, though you'd think the guys that own Triple Rock and Jupiter would know how to run a restaurant, it's probably just that the employees are inexperienced.

I am meeting a buddy there tonight. Sounds like I should look at the menu ahead of time and order food when I grab my first beer rather than wait til one of us are hungry. Also, is smoking allowed in the beer garden?

I really doubt smoking is allowed. Service might be better tonight, but that's generally not a bad idea.
