The blood orange saison is surprisingly a banger and I think pretty cheap ($7?) at the source, and I usually hate most orange beers. I was also surprised by Old Bayard; one of their best showings since Eli left.
I'll agree that the Blood Orange is better than the other stuff.

Is Eli at Lake Tahoe Brewing now?

He is. I just learned that a week or 2 ago. It sounds like he hasn't harvested any barrels yet there, and has only a fledgling stash initiated. They've always been thoroughly mediocre. Will report back soon.
Awesome. They've always struck me as, like, the Pyramid of Tahoe. But if he's there...

Random. Was in Truckee yesterday and peaked into what appears to be the new (old?) Lake Tahoe Brewing. They seem to be in the middle of construction but the building is an old service station which is kinda cool. Is Eli the guy that came to TMBC from Crooked Stave?

Is anyone familiar with purchasing kegs in San Francisco? I called Cellarmaker, they don't sell to the public. I want to support someone besides bevmo but can't think of any places at the moment. Anyone have experience with that?

I know people who have ordered kegs from Mike's Liquors in the Outer Mission with success. Not sure about selection but I'd give them a call.

Star on Divis is supposed to be decent.

Not SF, but you can get kegs directly from Drakes I believe.

I met the head dude at an civil engineering event and he basically said they aren't trying to make great beer, just good beer and supporting the community, etc. I'm kinda mixed on that.
If they made good beer, I could be down.

Wow, way to lower the bar. I wonder if this will be trend among brewers, just like session IPA's. The not so good IPA, labeled as such.

They mostly do English styles and lagers right? I think he meant they aren't shooting for styles that can more easily achieve greatness. They do some IPAs that are good, probably on par with Faction and Fieldwork.

How's the beer rev these days? Haven't been a while but have been disappointed the last few visits. Have an hour to kill today in Oakland.

Man, I miss the days when every beer on the menu was around $6 or less, with just a few 7 or $8 specialties. Not a single $5 beer on the board now.
I miss so much about the way Beer Rev used to be. Haven't actually been in about 18 months or so.

They're still one of the cheaper/non price gouging places in the bay along with Toronado. Cable Car notwithstanding. I blame Lost Abbey for that though.

So we are not talking bottle pricing then for BR? BR was fantasticly priced for bottles for first couple of years. Then things changed, really ******* changed.
