Got damn, the hate for Cascade seems rill. All I'm saying, Bourbonic Plague, Manhattan NW, etc... are ******* awesome.Unless they fixed Honey Ginger Lime, Cascade is not a top-5 Portland brewery right now.

Cascade is fun but I don't think it stands up to other options named. If you're up there for a few days and have plenty of time, absolutely hit it and have some draft pours. If it's a quick weekend trip, it wouldn't make my personal cut, Portland has too many other good choices.Got damn, the hate for Cascade seems rill. just years of trying their stuff and getting bored with the same lacto profile. watching the prices go up to unsavory amounts on draft and in bottle hasn't helped, either. definitely go if you're a fan, but it's become more of a tourist trap than a locals joint anymore.Skipping cascades seems crazy, any reason? IMO their beers are incredible and incredibly expensive via bottle but reasonable on tap.

I would def put Great Notion above all else in Portland, but I still try to make a stop at Cascade as well whenever I visit (twice per year usually). The taplist is always stacked with special and vintage stuff and it's located near a lot of other good spots. Also, Supracot is probably my favorite apricot beer I've ever had. Looks like they haven't made it for a few years, tho.Got damn, the hate for Cascade seems rill. All I'm saying, Bourbonic Plague, Manhattan NW, etc... are ******* awesome.
Diesel might be the best beer Cascade makes.I would def put Great Notion above all else in Portland, but I still try to make a stop at Cascade as well whenever I visit (twice per year usually). Damn, that one has eluded me. I also love the Glueh kriek. Served hot with mulled spices.Diesel might be the best beer Cascade makes.

Re: Fieldwork cans. I've bitched about it in the Fieldwork thread a while back. They update their each site's taplist daily and post enough on social media to at least let us know when cans are out at various locations. You can order a crowler online but have to call to ask if cans are available? Just doesn't make sense to me.
Oh, I'm sure it would be tougher to manage and I agree that they do a great job with everything else in terms of communication. Honestly, it's because they're so good with that stuff that I don't think it's too much to ask. If they were very limited with social media and communication, I would be ok with it being more of a crapshoot. It's probably easier to manage the inventory driving crowlers (i.e., kegs) vs. cans which may run out at any time during the day.
Personally, I love their model. Great social media presence, tons of great beer on tap, and regularly-changing can offerings to go. Better than 99% of the breweries in the Bay Area.
If you thought Bruery was unhip around these parts, Cascade makes Bruery look like SARA. If you like their stuff, by all means go. Especially for draft prices, as you note.Got damn, the hate for Cascade seems rill. All I'm saying, Bourbonic Plague, Manhattan NW, etc... are ******* awesome.
green dragon is owned by Rogue and unfortunately Buckman Botanical is no more.If you thought Bruery was unhip around these parts, Cascade makes Bruery look like SARA. If you like their stuff, by all means go. Especially for draft prices, as you note.
I had fun at that place across the street from Cascade too. Green Dragon or something? I'm not a local, so that might be a ****** rec. It was behind a botanical brewery or something but looked like it was part of the same building.
Was that always the case for GD? Went there about two years ago.green dragon is owned by Rogue and unfortunately Buckman Botanical is no more.
fwiw I heard the Cascade/Bruery collab that was tapped and released this week is exceptional.
I knew Rogue had owned it for a while, but apparently it's a full-on Rogue pub now. Last time I was there was prob 2014.Was that always the case for GD? Went there about two years ago.

Plus Crowler Guys just down the block from Cascade was cool. Taqueria next door too.I had fun at that place across the street from Cascade too.
Then there’s the weird beer store that’s basically the Overstock.com of weird Rogue beers no one has ever heard of. It’s a Boulevard of Bad IdeasI knew Rogue had owned it for a while, but apparently it's a full-on Rogue pub now. Last time I was there was prob 2014.
This is likely not helpful for whatever cans they may have had, but you can call them on the telephone and ask.Anyone know how to check if cans are available at Fieldwork?
RIP in peace.

We need to talk at 8 am in the morning. I'll give you a PIN number for the ATM machine.
Sorry, couldn't help myself. . .
I'm an *******. . .
me, personally.
Did an organized bike ride event out in San Ramon today. There were 3 breweries from Livermore there and the ending oarty, including Shadow Puppet. Must say I was impressed with Shadow Puppet. Anyone been there, share my feelings? Hows the taproom, worth a trek from Berkeley?
