Tonga Room is awesome for a few drinks, but I do not recommend eating there. Took a friend from out of town once. We had a Rainmaker for 2 (felt like about 16 oz) and split an entree and a side and the bill was like $120. It was plenty of decent food, but def not worth that price tag. Anyway, it is really fun and you should def go and stay there for at least one rain storm.
And if you do end up in the Richmond District, I will third(?) Trad'r Sams. There isn't an individual drink on the menu for over $10 and they make 'em strong AF. The scorpion bowls will get you turnt, too.
Several breweries have popped up in the past few years, but no one is really excited about most of them. Liquid Gold and Crafty Fox are good semi-new beer bars. Old Devil Moon always sports a nice tap list. Almanac has a tasting room in the Mission now...
