Old Policy
RE-ENTERING THE BALLPARK During games, guests are permitted to leave the ballpark and return. Guests may go to any gate to have their hand and ticket stamped for re-entry. They must have their stamped ticket stub and hand stamp to re-enter the ballpark and can re-enter at any ballpark gate. Guests re-entering the ballpark are subject to search.

New Policy
RE-ENTERING THE BALLPARK

Please be aware of a change to our re-entry policy. In an effort to further ensure fan safety at AT&T Park, ballpark re-entry will not be allowed once the game begins. If you need to exit and re-enter AT&T Park for reasons such as accessing your car, smoking, meeting others or personal needs, you must exit and re-enter before first pitch. This procedure will take effect starting with the first exhibition game on Thursday, March 30th. Please plan accordingly as you will not be allowed re-entry on the same ticket once the game begins except in cases of emergency or to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities. Re-entry is limited at all major Bay Area sports venues and our revised policy helps us enhance fan safety and security at AT&T Park

I have no idea how this relates to access in/out of The Public House. I just had heard it was a policy change.

(I cannot believe I am the person searching through AT&T Policies to find this *****, I am no skin in the game on this one)

Good question. I'm curious as well.

Meanwhile in Oakland, the tarps are off and beer prices dropped to $10 each. They finally got some decent beer too. What used to be Budweiser counters are now Firestone, New Belgium, Founder's, St. Archer, Ballast Point, Drake's... I mean, it's no Public House, but it's a start. Good to see them making an effort to work with what they have now instead of waiting for that eventual new stadium.
Went to a game last week. Agreed on no Public House, but it was nice not having to head up to the (now) Shibe Park Tavern to get something that tastes alright.

I would like an explanation on exactly how that increases security haha.

No idea for sure, but I could see the following argument making sense:

Say 10% of the attendees exited and re-entered, you've now decreased the overall number of people your security needs to screen by that amount, which allows them more focus on the smaller total. Something like that?

The new re-entry policy doesn't effect Public House, other than you can't leave Public House and go outside the stadium (through Public House's front door) anymore, and come back in. You can still go in and out of PH from the usual door inside the stadium as many times as you would like. The only difference from before is that you get a wristband instead of a stamp now, and Blind Pigs are up to $8

To those complaining about the walk to PH, the escalator will save you a trip either up or down depending on the time of game. Shaves some time off your trip

Glad that the Public House access won't be impacted...not that I go to a ton of Giants games. But always take advantage when I do.

Yeah, $8 for a Blind Pig is a bummer, but considering the typical stadium/ballpark pricing, I think most will take it. Better than the $13 12-ounce pours of old kegs of Lagunitas IPA I had recently at a Warriors game.

Last time I went to ATT was 2014. At the time, unless you went to the Public House for every beer, your choices were ****. I believe old bottles of Lagunitas IPA were available for $10. Have their concession beers improved at all?

I could have swore it was $8 before. But still, $8 for any beer of any size at a ballpark is amazing.

Hard to say no to an un-ticked classic when it's just sitting on the shelf!

Looks like it's "only" 16.5% this year, for what it's worth.

I figure it would be worth asking here.

I have an extra ticket tonight to Coheed and Cambria at the Fox in Oakland. If anybody is interested in going, send me a message. Selling below cost.

I kind of like it (non-aged) on tap. There are actually hops in the aroma. However, even fresh out of the bottle, they're just not there, completely covered up by all that malt. I didn't find it got much better with age, either, just more sweet if anything. Fun to make Heaven and Hells with WWS, if nothing else.

Might need to head out to Pleasanton area this afternoon and kill some time with the baby. Outside of Altamont, any good places to visit in that neck of the woods that are child friendly?

Went to Armstrong Brewing in South SF yesterday for the first time, even though my work is down the street.

My two word review: Expensive homebrew.

$7 for a 12? oz snifter of beer that doesn't taste very good, or $7 for the same snifter of mediocre guest taps (Downtown Brown, anyone?) is just crazy talk.

The best part of the brewery is that it's across the street from Farolito and Ben Tre. That's about it.

Will check out 47 Hills (the other local brewery) and report back.

Mackay's or Handle's in downtown have outdoor seating (maybe kid friendly?) and good taps. First Street Alehouse in Livermore is a top choice for me though, and kid friendly.

Probably too late now, but Caps & Taps in Dublin. Though I hesitate to recommend it as it's my local bar and I like that it's generally a small, laid back crowd.

Have heard of Caps and Taps before, but assumed it was not child friendly. Didn't look that close though.

Booked a trip for 4th of July weekend. Haven't been in town for a while, never even been to Cellarmaker or Mikkeller Bar. What else has popped up recently? Definitely going to Pagan Idol and Tonga as well.

Haven't been to Pagan Idol yet, but I prefer Smugglers Cove to Tonga Room. Mostly just because I think the drinks are better. Though I guess one could argue that when you're just getting blasted on some combination of rum, fruit juice, and assorted sugary syrups, they're all the same.
