Damn. Yup was there.

* Note to self,....... be the ******** that checks his phone way more often than necessary while at breweries.

Altamont Funky Operator - their Smooth Operator aged over a year and a half in wine barrels with raspberries added.

Pretty damn good. Not what I expected. Wasn't very sour or sweet , but more dry and subtle raspberries with roasted chocolate flavor. It's great.

$8 for a 12 ounce pour and $22 for their 1L growlette fill.

I was so close... Was in Pleasanton, but we didn't go because we wanted food.

Nope :(

Was clueless where to go, stopped at the handles place is Pleasanton. It was ok, at least I got to try two Altamont Beers there.

Ah, if you ever end up in the TriValley again, shoot me a message, this is my drinking backyard.

Heading to Faction for the first time tomorrow. Are most of their beers listed on tap available for growler fills? Any recommendations?

Like Cellarmaker, they seem to have a pretty high-turnover list. Take advantage of the tasters and the sensible growler fill policy (cover your outside growlers and they'll fill them).

Though for some reason the bartender argued with me when I derided breweries that won't fill outside growlers. I think I need to spend less time in the beer community.

Going to pick some of these and give to a friend with Celiac's. Will also taste for science.

Deal-breaker. I can't keep my mouth shut when I see something that makes no sense -- like CA growler policies.

EDIT: or hell, a bartender who worked at Drake's, and now at Faction, defending breweries who don't fill outside growlers (both places do). I need a drink

EDIT 2: I'm in DC right now, almost bought a growler of Bourbon County at a liquor store. Could have filled it myself and everything. CA is far behind the curve and way too insistent to remain there.
