Anybody have a super simple barleywine recipe? I checked the databast but didnt see anything simple. Thanks :mug:

Extract or All Grain?

Since you want simple, I am assuming extract but you can do a SMASH barley wine with Marris Otter and it will be good, from what I've read.

Yeah, I am doing a 6 Gal b wine next month. 30Lbs of Maris Otter, 14 ounces of Fuggle. Hops are added in 2 ounce increments at 90/60/45/30/15/10/5 min

What are you getting from 60 minute, 45 minute and 30 minute addition that you're not getting from the 90 minute addition?

Dunno, but Lagunitas seems to know what they are doing and they apparently use huge 45 minute additions (Maximus, Little Sumpin' Sumpin'). Refer to recent podcasts on tbn...

I also have all the steeping grain for MBs 80/-shilling. So If I made the 80/- and added

the extra 6# LME would I have to up the steeping grain as well or will I end up with

something that resembles a wee heavy?
