The first Buffalo Brewers Series - "Ballpark Brewers Series #1" steps to the plate with a lineup of three distinct flavors from the newly-formed All-Star Team. Big Ditch Brewing Company is featuring Low Bridge, which is a hoppy golden ale. Community Beer Works' offering is called An IPA, which wryly enough is an India Pale Ale. Rounding out the pack is Resurgence Brewing's Summer Saison. All three beers are perfect for a warm sunny day, whether you are at the ballpark watching a game or just hanging with friends in your backyard.

I am spoiled out here at both M&T Stadium and Nats Park. Both have easily available craft taps (a couple on each level) and both also have beer guys that walk around with pint cans of Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA. I have zero complaints about the beer options around here when it comes to stadiums.

I love Half Acre... I really want to talk my wife into a long weekend up there so I can go there and Pipeworks. Had some Ninja vs Unicorn this past weekend.

Out in the western suburbia of Chicago, at the Kane Country Cougars stadium, the minor league team of the Ariz D-Backs, there is a nice selection of craft beers. They have a "Craft Beer Cave" along the 3rd base side of the concessions. I'm going on a company outing there later this month so I just looked up the menu. They have several from local breweries like Two Brothers, which is out in that general area. It is not too bad of a drive from downtown Chicago, and tickets are $11. Doesn't matter where you sit. The outfield has bistro tables and umbrellas in the beer garden, Center field has the Two Brothers beer garden.

I might have a cheat sheet with me so I remember what to order.

Since I'm going on a company outing, I'm going to have to curb my enthusiasm. I'm not driving, but still can't try every one that I would like!

Tailgating isn't a tradition at Mets games, we mostly come by subway. And it is probably illegal under NYS law, not that that ever stopped anybody. One side of Citifield is surrounded by car shops/junkyards, one has the subway/el, and then the Tennis Center (US Open), the third side has the highway, as does the fourth. Maybe one or two bars opened up next to the junkyards, but that is pretty unappealing.

That KOMO article is interesting, as it says what I said at the beginning. They would never admit to it. We are all beer drinkers and brewers on this forum, and I'm sure many of you have suspected this all along too. When I taste my hydrometer samples, I can always gauge the alcohol, and the reading reinforces it. When I sampled my double IPA I felt a buzz on just the sample. When I sampled my last lager, I was surprised that I could feel what was supposed to be a lighter style. It turns out that it was around 7%, so not so light after all. When I downed a 12oz cup of IPA (not a session style either) at Citifield, I didn't feel a thing. So maybe its the sun, the company, the game, whatever, that reduces the buzz, but I know a buzz when I have one.

Oh, and in Seattle, I saw a Mariners game at Safeco and don't remember the beer, but the food was good. I probably had a craft brew of some kind, and maybe more than one. I was by myself that time so I probably didn't drink all that much.
