Just wanted to know opinions or if anyone out there has added smoothie mixes to either the secondary fermentation or to backsweeten after the mead is stabilized?

I've been looking at trying the Torrani brand for Raspberry but wasn't sure how well it mixed and/or how much sediment it added to a mead?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking!

This looks like it could be cool to use in a mead, haven’t heard of this until now. Backsweetening may not be advisable, as this may be best to use in secondary fermentation. There’s about 500-600g of sugar in one of these 64oz (1/2gal) containers. That amount of sugar could be enough to backsweetening a batch, but you’d also be greatly diluting your finished mead. It’s nice that there are no preservatives but their claim to “no artificial flavors added” is entirely false. The pictures on their website of the back of the bottle with the ingredients/nutrients clearly show “natural flavors” added. Frankly, there’s essentially no difference between “artificial” flavors and “natural” flavors.

This might be best to add to secondary and just see what happens. Backsweetening with it could be gamble.
