I use a large bag clip. When put at the top of the autosiphon it allows it to lean in on an angle in a bucket. The tip is right about near the trub/yeast cake line. Start the siphon, check to make sure the tube is running clear, then just return at the end to get the last inch or so if necessary. Fits perfectly into the top of a carboy too.

Brilliant! :mug:

Now what are you doing to solve the autosiphon in bucket problem?

Here is my solution: The Auto Siphon clamp is born! Works on either size of Auto Siphons..

I guess I'll head to the shop to ugly it up a bit. Some hose clamps, ratchet straps, bailing wire and bubble gum oughta do it..

I was way to hot and lazy to stand and hold the %%$^^$ auto-siphon, so I found probably the cheapest and easiest solution (had a whole 5 min. to find one).

1 rubber band one
1 paper clamp
anything a little heavy the clamp will hold

Solution: (remember auto-siphon already in use - might be easier before)
pull off one of the clamp handles
loop rubber band around siphon
put ends through clamp handle and reattach
attach said any weight the clamp will hold
let the weight dangle off side of bucket

holds the auto-siphon straight up in the bucket and did not budge when i tipped the bucket a little to get the last bit of beer being transferred

i will give a picture when it is not so frickin' hot and I am not so lazy.

I use plastic clips. They're kind of like clothes pins but plastic, larger and have a magnet on the back for sticking papers, etc to the refrigerator. They clamp onto the autosiphon perfectly and keep it from falling all the way into the carboy.

Swear to god, I saw santa and raindeer chunky dunking in glacial melt water.

Seriously hit 100 by the thermometer in my car when I went out to get a few things.

For carboys i just jammed a folded chunk of random vinyl hose beside the autosyphon to make it a snug fit. Kinda low tech but saved me from drilling holes in perfectly good carboy caps..

This is my auto-siphon holder. Clip it to the siphon, fold out the arms to hold it on top of the carboy. :D
