I just finished my first ale from a kit and it turned out great. I would like to try an Apricot Ale but I do not want to use grains, that over power the apricot flavor, I would still like to be able to taste the apricot. Does anyone have any suggestions on a recipe for such a beer?

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but I've had great success with fruit added to the AHS PM clone kit for Fraziskaner. According to my beer club members, the Franzis Scott Ki(wi)-Wheat I made is one of my two best beers ever. The Base kit is a hefe with a slight banana flavor from the yeast. Right now I've got Black(berry) Franzis fermenting in secondary and the hydro sample tasted amazing.

I think it would feature apricot flavor just as well.

Pyramid Apricot wheat is probably one of the best examples out there. Take a basic wheat beer recipe or kit and add the apricot to secondary. Probably avoid the true heffe yeast strains though and use a cleaner tasting strain like Danstar Munich or maybe even a California common. No spice addition like coriander or anything either. I need to make one of these myself soon.
