I do. I live in a new town and have two young kids, so I haven't met any friends that will sit around and help me kill kegs.

I have four perlick taps, and I'm addicted to planning my next brew sessions. Luckily the swmbo loves my beer, but she's always watching her diet.

Anyone else in my situation? I love variety and new beers, so it would be hard to brew less than once per month.

Yes, I'm asking you to feel sorry for me because I have too much beer.

Ha, its just my wife and I in our town. Some friends moved away, both of us work out of town and the rest of the family is about an hour away. The friends we do have never have time to get over for a beer. Right now I have 3 kegs in the fridge, 2 carboys in the fermentation box and a keg of Oatmeal stout that doesn't fit in the fridge...all along with about 2 cases of commercial craft brew. I guess its a good problem to have. We just had a Father's Day bbq for our dads so that ate up a chunk of brews.

As I said...think of it as a good problem to have. One can never have too much beer around :rockin:

If I had more to spend on supplies,Id have that problem to a degree. We drink a 6'r a night sometimes between the 2 of us. so we had to slow our row, till we get paid the 1st of the month. And the holiday 3 days after that. But we will have 3 cases or so for the bbq! I've got 2 more brew recipes waiting in the wings for that moment.
With utilities & such being what they are,I guess I'll just have to enjoy less.

I'm the only one who regularly drinks my beer. On top of that I've been brewing a bunch because I have somewhere around 20 cases of bottles I'm trying to fill for long term storage. The wife wants to have a birthday party in September though so I know I'll just let everyone drink my stuff. It should be pretty good by then.

These guys didn't empty themselves.:ban:

I feel your pain. I love to brew and try new things, but I currently have a four perlick corney system which is almost completely full, with two carboys busy fermenting in the works. I either need to drink more, brew less, or make more friends who like home brew. I am by no means complaining, but it is an interesting problem to deal with...good luck!

Similar situation here. What do you think about smaller batches?

I've been toying around with the idea of going with 3 gallon batches to improve the frequency of "the rotation". It'd also most likely allow me to do BIAB all-grain with the set-up I currently have instead of PM's.

Same issue here. I just ordered three more cornies to offer some short term relief, but realistically my bottleneck is at the taps.

My wife stopped drinking beer almost completely after my daughter and I've had to cut back due to liver enzymes, so I've been backlogged lately. It gets gone before it's not fresh though.

It's terrible isnt it?:mug:

I make beer faster than I drink it. I invite friends over to share my brews. I take a sixpack with me whenever I go to a friends place. I give beer away to coworkers. And still I have more.

I wouldn't mind having so much beer if I had enough bottles to hold it all. I hate buying bottles -with shipping they cost almost as much empty as if I just went to the store and bought full bottles...

I suppose I will have to invest in kegs and a kegerator if I am gonna keep this up. Unfortunately that is not a minor investment.

I have limited myself to eight batches. That would be four kegs full and four fermentors. That doesn't count bottles. Bottles don't count.

I like to drink my beer. I like to create recipes and brew even more, though, so I do tend to have excess amounts of the stuff sitting around.

To help with this problem, I brew 3.5 gallon batches instead of 5 gallon. That comes out to be a case and a six pack. The six pack I view as my "testers" - the ones I drink first to see if it's carbonated enough, aged enough, etc. The rest of the case is shared with friends, put out at parties, etc. and my wife and I even manage to have some.

I just brewed my first 2.5 gallon batch...an experiment to see if my recipe was on the right track. I may brew more batches in that size from now on so that I can experiment even more. I hate to dump a case of beer because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

I found myself in a similar situation several months back. I had to start drinking more beer and less water. The sacrifices we make for the craft we love.

Excellent point. I guess it's time for a beer.:mug:

I brew more than I can drink. Unfortunately my friends drink as much as I can brew.

My bottleneck is my bottles. Just got a bunch from my cousin though, so I will be good for a while. Try smaller batches, they are fun to do, easier to carry, and you get more variety. Lifting 2.5-3 gallons of beer makes you feel dominant over it. Carrying 5 gallons of beer always makes me feel like it controls me.

Petaluma is nice, almost moved there years ago. I usually have more than I can drink and give some away when I can. Just gave a few bottles to the receptionist at my dentist office and it seemed my bill was a bit lighter than it should have been.

I will have this problem one day... well, once I get set up for kegging... 10 gallon batches.. 5 in the keg, 5 in bottles.

I'm going to need more milk crates... lol

When I get too loaded down with full kegs I just find a friend having a party and show up with a keg. People that don't know me tend to be blown away by the equipment and the fact that homemade beer can taste as good as anything at the liquor store. Win-win, free keg at a party, and taps freed up.

That's funny - I almost moved to Portland from Eugene several years ago after I finished college because I thought it was nice. Cheers

I definitely have that problem. Currently I have a 6 tap bar set up in the basement, and all are full. Not to mention I usually have 2 beers at least fermenting. And then there are the bottled batches... Luckily I have plenty of friends who come over and enjoy my brew so I can keep making more!

I am working on it. The pipeline is not dry but variety is not all that great. That should be changing VERY soon.
