A few years ago, I was given an "antique" glass bottle by a friend of mine. He just moved into a new house, and this was just sitting in the attic.

My question: any idea what this bottle might have been used for? No markings, and I am not familiar with old glassware. Hard to see in the photo, but I think there is a small mark from where the bottle was cut? Its not sharp, but you can definitely feel the imperfection

I am hoping to use it for an upcoming sour project. Think its safe to use (after the usual sanitation).

Thanks!

Use it. From what I understand, old bottles did not have seams (a line running vertically straight down from top to bottom).
