Hey everyone! My name is Nate and I live in the antelope valley. I was given a fermentor and some supplies by a co-worker after expressing interest in homebrew. I have been looking into it for about a year now.

So, I cooked my first batch yesterday. Already screwed up (added too much water), but I'm not stressing and will call it a learning point. First extract kit was purchased from Culver City Homebrew and it will be a Stout (hopefully ).

So far I am extremely impressed with the patience you all seem to have with newbies, so thanks and cheers! :mug:

Hey, welcome aboard Nate!

Wow...Antelope Vally to Culver City is some drive! You may want to look into some of the mail order shops, there are quite a few excellents ones around.

I just wanted to get some face to face talk. The guy there gave me some insight/hands on to what the grains and such are. He let me sample (taste and smell) the different ingredients. Definitely worth the trip. Plus, my wife and I like to get out of the AV every once in while and we made it a day trip to include other sights down there.

We frequent Vegas (my hometown) and the SF Bay Area so I look forward to checking out some other places too. I will definitely be doing a lot of future shopping online though. Thanks for the welcome!

Another AV person welcome, I am fairly new around here too. :mug: I am trying to find out were other locals get their supplies. Culver is definitely to far for me.
