I am brewing an Amber tonight, extract. boiling 9 gallons of water for an 8 gallon recipe.
OG around 1.058.

I would like to use Nugget and Willamette as i have a lb of each.
I was thinking this:
.75 oz nugget @ 60
.75 oz nugget @ 30
1 oz willamette @ 15
1 oz willamette @ 5

would it be a good idea to add some nugget into the flavor/aroma timeframe, say .5 oz somewhere in the 5-15min addition or will it overpower the willamette?

i have never used either of these hops so suggestions would be great.

Thanks

i brewed an amber some months back with nugget and palisade and enjoyed the flavor contribution of the nugget - i'm sure it would work well with the willamette as well

I'm not super familiar with nugget but based on the alpha, I say you could probably get away with .5 oz and nothing more so long as you maintain your 1 oz at 15 and 1 oz at 5 of willamette.

update. i get a earthy/fruit from it, almost a rootbeer type of flavor. its interesting. not my favorite but not bad to change it up.

i brewed a 4 gal batch with .75oz of nugget @ 60 and 3 oz Styrian Goldings as flavor/aroma(the local brewery sold me 10 lbs of it for cheap) - 1oz @ 15, 1oz @ 10 and 1oz @5. more of a hoppy Amber, 1.062 SG. used s-05 again. bottling this weekend. I will update in a few weeks.
