Apropo of this being the Allagash discussion thread, interesting to see that Nancy has been added to the Limited Edition beer descriptions on the Allagash site. Not that the page ever actually means anything, but.... That and Farm to Face have to be up sometime soon, I would think...

Anyone have any idea (or care to speculate) on how Belfius is blended? As in, is there pasteurization going on, or is the saison component taking the place of young lambic in a gueuze-like blend, to provide carbonation from its residual sugars? Probably ISO regardless.

Looks like this question was never answered, and I don't know, but I would speculate the latter. Would be unlike Allagash to pasteurize... That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was primed a bit too? Allagash Saison is relatively dry to my taste anyway, though I suppose there might still be plenty of stuff left for the lambic bugs to eat.

Was hoping the little card with beer description would clarify, but it just says it's a blend of the two.

This years batch is so good.
I know, I cant stop thinking about it since you guys brought it up ALL day. Put one in the fridge on my lunch break :D:D
If you've never had one with a couple years on it, do yourself a favor and bury the other one deep in the cellar somewhere for a while :)
I am going to do that with my last one, and hopefully my buddy from up there picks me up at least another 1-2 before his next stop down.

"Still no more details on the release of this collab beer, but pretty dang excited to see it get labeled today"

Take this fwiw, but was chatting with retail staff the other day and they said they didn't think there would be a normal style release for WFB, as in "here's the date, show up, buy a bottle, take it home". More likely an event type of thing where you get to drink it, or maybe on premise. This is all total speculation and retail staff often gives mixed info so we will just have to continue to wait.

Would make sense in context of how Cantillon released it...

are all three bottles still available? Thinking about going up tomorrow morning for some Bard beans a Holy Donut or two.

see you there? anyone know if Allagash allows us to open things if their servers open them (and we share with them)? I could bring Anna, Arthur, Florence to share with people.

Unlikely that they allow it.

So many hnnnnngs and plenty of jealousy. I lived in Portland a few years ago (briefly) and was only just beginning to get into beer as I was leaving. I wasted time buying weird Mikkeller **** from RSVP and walking up Munjoy Hill to buy Rising Tide bottles from that little co-op. Aside from the occasional pack of Allagash White I completely missed out on all the great Allagash brews. A friend of mine shipped me some a while back but then I mentioned it's legal-grey-area-status and he got weirded out about it.

tl;dr if anyone ever wants to do some Ohio for Allagash ('ships or otherwise) hit me up

Easy day at Allagash on Saturday. House beer refilled and 4 Belfius in hand. ;)

The Brett beer at Bissell was surprisingly good. Foundations not so much...

Tons of Belfius still left today at Allagash even late afternoon. I hit it both directions this weekend, going up and coming down... Also Golden Brett was on the 5th handle which was a nice surprise!

That's good news! Hopefully it's still there Saturday morning.
