I just added a gallon batch of a honey ale to my fermenter last night, this morning there was virtually no activity, so I stirred it up some, and two hours later foam started coming up into the airlock despite having enough headroom. Never seen it before in 3-4 batches before. Now there's foam coming out of the top of the airlock. Relax and have a homebrew or move to the fridge?

Thanks

Don't move to a frdige, add a blow off tube. I have attached a picture of mine. If you search the forum for blow off tubes, you can get ideas on how to make one. It is quite simple.

Thanks for the ideas. I have one of those double bubble air locks, still possible with blow off tube but more difficult. It has pretty much resided and the airlock is working pretty well now, minimal foam in airlock.

Thanks, I will keep in mind next time
