I made an awesome Belgium tripel and want to barrel age it. I have new american white oak barrel. I have some questions:
I assume no carbonation or refrigeration?

Once I drink it how do I condition the keg for the next batch?

I am going to fill it with water for a few days before I keg to make sure it holds water.

How long should I let it age before I try it?

Any other tips??

Thanks y'all!!

A new oak barrel will impart oak flavor rapidly especially on that "light" of a beer. How big is the barrel? The smaller the barrel the faster it will impart flavor so you might be getting a ton of oakiness within a few days. But, there are those better suited to answer this one than I as my barrel knowledge is from listening to podcasts and not actual experience.
