Hey everyone, I have a real quick question about those adhesive thermometers that come with the kits... I tried to peel one off of my fermenting bucket, and it seperated into 2 pieces with the adhesive part still stuck to the bucket and the numerical part peeled off. Is it safe to just leave it on there for now or is there chemicals in the thermometer that are considered dangerous? Thanks in advance for any input.

I don't get it, is it stuck inside your bucket? I don't see how the adhesive part outside could pose problem, with or without the numerical part.

Why were you trying to peel it off? I checked one against my All Temp laser thermometer & the strip was only off a couple tenths of a degree...

Its on the outside. I was simply curious as to whether these were toxic in any way? And I was replacing an old one. Some of the numerical squares had turned white through age and washes.

You can't soak the strips in any way,or it damages them. I just wipe down the outside with a paper towel moistened with Starsan. Then dry it off. I wash only the inside with PBW,rinse & Starsan it.
